A tour of Lake of the Springs

Yesterday we rode the scooter to Oregon House which is just 1.5 miles from LOTS (Lake of the Springs) to check it out. Not much to see. There is a deli/general store but that's about it. They are selling diesel for $3.99 which is more then in Ventura but not bad for out  here in nowheresville!

We left our home again on the scooter and headed down to the pool. It has been in the 90's here.

Our home with the million dollar view!
Here is the pool. The water is probably about 82-85 degrees. It feels great when it is 95 out! We stayed here for almost 3 hours. We meet several great people. Patty is having a field day meeting new friends!

This is the lake that the campground is on. I think it's called Lake Mildred, not Lake of the Springs. The Thousand Trails campground is called LOTS. Hmmm...

Lake Mildred
In the above picture you can see the roped off area. That is the designated swim area. We have not gone swimming in the lake, but we felt the water and it felt warm. In the below picture you can see others using the beach area.

Like most Thousand Trails preserves, LOTS has a putt-putt golf course. What's different about this one is that overlooks the lake. You can see the marina in the background through the trees.

Putt-Putt with a BIG hazard!
I'm standing on one of the putt-putt holes so you can see a better view of the lake.

Here is the Lodge looking up from the putt-putt area. On Friday and Saturday they serve breakfast and have BBQ here.

Here is a view from the deck of the Lodge.

Today we did our laundry. It is the first time we have driven the truck since we got here.  After lunch today we plan to take the scooter to Bullard Bar Dam which is supposed to be one of the largest or tallest dams in the USA. I'll know more after we go.

Love you all,
Brian and Patty

It looks like a beautiful area, and you have sunshine, which we are lacking in Ventura at the moment. Please give my sister a hug for me.
