June 4th - On the way to Yosemite

Sorry for the delay in posting. We have pretty poor WiFi and NO phone service here at Yosemite Lakes. There was service down in the Yosemite valley but more about that in the next post which I will try and post today.

We left Tulare on Monday. It was about 250 miles to Yosemite Lakes. The final 80 miles really tested the truck, serious grades going 25 mph and straight down corners. Not for the faint of heart! We may need to look at beefing up the transmission.

On the way we kept seeing signs about almonds for $2.99 per lb. at the Valley Pistachio store.

When we got there they had tons of pistachios, some almonds, but they were all $10.99 per lb. Nothing was $2.99! It felt we had been had. Patty asked the clerk where the cheap almonds were?

Oh we keep those in the back to see who is reading the signs. OK. We bought our $2.99 almonds, and they were yummy!

We finally got to Yosemite Lakes at about 3:30. It was pouring rain. This is not the fun part of full timing!

We did get a great spot at Yosemite Lakes. An end site with a great shot towards the satellites.

Tuesday we went into the valley and hiked to several waterfalls. I will try and post that later today. I will also post how Crystal and James video conferenced us to tell us whether grandbaby is a boy or girl.

We do now know!
