Sunday - July 22, 2012

We went to Tillamook to go to church. There was really nothing around here that looked like something we would feel comfortable in. We needed to fill the truck up anyway at the Fred Meyer plus we wanted to go to the Munson Creek Falls which is just 7 miles from Tillamook so it made sense.
We went to First Christian Church a non-denominational church. It was in an old church building but they made us feel welcome and they had modern worship songs. The message was good.
After church we went to Fred Meyers and filled up and bought a few groceries we needed. Then it was on the the falls! Patty gets lighthouses and I get the waterfalls!

Munson Creek Falls
Munson Creek Falls is the tallest waterfall on the Oregon coast at 319' tall. I think what I like about waterfalls is that they are usually a fairly reasonable hike, 1/4 to 1/2 mile each way. And usually in the most spectacular places God has created.

Munson Creek
The trail was an easy hike and extremely beautiful!

And then we got our first glimpse of the falls. WOW!

Falls
We knew from the first site why this is considered such a gem. We continued on. We encountered some stairs.

Trailway stairs
And then we got this view.

Getting closer
We are almost there.

Munson Falls
The trail was closed past here because some trees had fallen. This was still an awesome view! It was time now to head back down.

Heading back
The trail was almost as awesome as the falls!

The way back
And there was the Dodge waiting for our return!

The Dodge!
That is it for Pacific City. We leave on Monday for Newport. We will be in Newport for 2 weeks.

Love you all,
Brian and Patty
