St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

November 26, 2015

______________________

Today is Thursday, Thanksgiving day! We arrived this morning at St. Thomas in in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Officially the Virgin Islands of the United States, are a group of islands in the Caribbean that are an insular area of the United States. We again have full service on my Cricket Cellular phone. We took this picture from our Verandah.

We had them bring room service breakfast to us. Omelettes, bagels, fruit bowl and juice. We then departed to shore for our Turtle Cove and Shipwreck Two Site Snorkel Trip. Here we are in St. Thomas.

We boarded the catamaran and headed out to our first dive.

Again we used our own Snorkel and Mask but used their fins. The water was not as clear here as in Turks and Caicos, and the pictures don't look as good and because the Turtle in the picture was at the bottom so the distance made it look fuzzy.

Sea Turtle
I also did not get many pictures. I accidently hit the video button in the pouch. I did not realize it so I kept turning it off when I was trying to take pictures and on when I was done. OOOPS!!! :)

If you look close you can see this is a Sting Ray. Hopefully next tine the pics will be better. We did not get any pictures of the shipwreck, but frankly it was not very old and was not worth taking pictures of anyway.

Sting Ray
For USVI tourism is the primary economic activity, although there is a significant rum manufacturing sector, so it should be no surprise that after both dives were complete they brought out snacks (veggies and cheese) and an open bar with rum punch.

Being that we don't drink we asked them if they could make virgin punch. They work on tips so they were so good about making anything you wanted! I will say they were VERY free with the rum for those that wanted it!

After we got back from the dives we cleaned up and had lunch, laid by the pool and enjoyed what the November Caribbean weather had for us.

For dinner they had this display at the entrance of the "Manhattan" dining room. Those are two real turkeys.

Thanksgiving Dinner
Patty had the turkey dinner. It doesn't look like much, but with all the appetizers, soups, salads, breads and deserts it was plenty. Patty said it was delicious.

Turkey Dinner
I had the steak dinner. It might have been the most tender steak I have ever had. I didn't even use my knife because it cut with my fork. It was soooooo good!

After dinner we went to the show. Holland has some very good shows. When we got back to our room this towel elephant was waiting for us.

That's it for today,
thank you for reading,
Love you all.... God Bless you!
