Brian & Patty's Awesome Adventure!: November 2014

It has been two months since we have updated the blog. Sorry about that. We did not have good internet and since we have been here in Santa Paula we have just been busy!

We were planning on leaving Newport and heading to Klamath, Ca for three days. RV Bill was heading to Florence, Oregon. We had ordered a new toilet from Amazon that Bill was going to install for us. After receiving two broken ones the third one could not get here before we left so we decided to have it shipped to Florence where Bill was going, We changed our plans and went to the South Jetty Thousand Trails in Florence for one night. We had heard a lot of bad about it which we don't get because we really like it! We will in fact go back and spend a week another time.

The third that was being overnighted on Amazon's expense got hung up in Portland and was not going to make it on time. The problem is that UPS lied to me and said it was because of bad weather in Portland. The lying irritated me as I can tell you the weather was beautiful in Oregon! I went up the chain at UPS enough until it was finally put on a small single prop plane and flown to the small Florence airport that day.

About 1:00 it was delivered to us at the Thousand Trails and it took Bill about 10 minutes to install it for us! Thank you soooooooo much Bill! (and Jenn for putting up with us!)

We headed to the Klamath River RV Park in Klamath, Ca the next day.

We like this park. It is an RPI park so it is cheap and right on the river!

We really only had two days to sightsee and although we have already hiked Fern Canyon we needed to go back again. You drive through the Prairie Creek Redwood Forest and then Gold Bluff Beach to get here, but it is WORTH IT!

As you start walking into the canyon you notice the rangers lay boards down across the creek. Because at some places the creek spreads out you can't always keep dry, for most of the hike the boards do work.

This is a beautiful place and YOU must go there sometime in your life, put in on a bucket list, it was on mine!

Here is a waterfall coming over the side of the canyon. Ferns are all the way up the side of the canyon wall!

Last time we were here, when we first started full timing we got to this clump of trees. It was hard to get past them and frankly we had a hard time getting this far. We turned back at this point not knowing how much further the canyon went.

We have become better hikers in two years so we decided to go past and see what we missed last time.
