Leaving on Tuesday!

On Tuesday we are heading out to Death Valley for a week.

Death Valley National Park
We last were in Death Valley 10 years ago with Scott and Terri. The first post I ever made was about that trip and planning for our retirement. We made our retirement goal within a year which is pretty good!

While we were here in Ventura we had a great time visiting with the kids and grandbabies!

Here is Charlotte.

Charlie
We went with the kids and Grandpa Jim and Grandma Carol as well as Cousin Ayla and Aunt Shannon to Underwood Farms for their Easter time festivities.

Here Crystal and Grace are in the Petting Zoo area.

Petting Zoo
We all rode the wagon. It was pulled by a tractor and went all around the farm.

Enjoying the ride!
We decided to purchase some bicycles for exercise. We found a Schwinn  21 speed 2.6FS mountain bike for Patty and a Trek Gary Fisher 21 Speed mountain bike for me.

Mountain Bikes
We got a hitch mounted carrier so we can take them with us on the road.

We will be staying at Furnace Creek campground at Death Valley. A couple years ago they installed full hookups. Because the federal government is so efficient (LOL) it took them over a year to decide how much to charge for the electrical hookup so the boxes were locked up and not used.

Eventually the committees got it figured out and  the one park in the country where electrical hookups are necessary is finally working!!!

Here is site #45 we have reserved for the week.

While we are there we will do the two tours of Scotty's Castle, the house tour and the underground tour. We also have the Lower Vine Ranch tour scheduled which is where Scotty actually lived.

Well that's it for now!

God Bless all and have a Great Easter!

He is RISEN!!

Back in Santa Paula (and the baby is here)!

We were able to get into Mountain View RV in Santa Paula on February 24th. We will be here until April 7th when we are scheduled for a week at the National Park Furnace Creek campground at Death Valley. Last year they installed full hookups which we have booked.

Anyways, here is our campsite here at Mountain View. They are tight sites, but the hosts do keep them very neat and tidy, and it is only 7 miles from Crystal's house and just down the hill from Cynthia's new house.

Friday night February 27th at 7:35 pm our second grandchild Charlotte Annabelle Hill was born!

Charlotte and Crystal
She was 7 lbs. 15 oz., 21 1/2" long and very healthy! Thank you Jesus!!!!

The proud parents wanted some privacy and didn't want a lot of visitors this time around so we just stayed at home and watched Gracie for them. Matthew did go by and took the hungry mom some food and got the first look at his new niece. That's awesome that brother and sister are so close!!

Proud Uncle Matty!
Finally the next day we came by to bring Gracie to see her little sister. Grammie could not wait to get her hands on Charlie.

This is the first family picture of the Hills! James, Gracie, Crystal and Charlotte.

The Hill Family
Crystal and Charlotte were finally released to go home at about 6:30 Saturday night. We went by to help them out and Patty made them diner. Nobody could get Charlie to stop crying but somehow grandpa found the touch. She laid on me for about three hours!! They were calling me the "baby whisperer" :)

Grandpa Baby Whisperer
Well that's it for today,

Thanks for all your prayers for Crystal and the baby! As you can see it has turned out great!

God Bless you all!!!
