A severe storm was on the way. I'm sure you heard about it on the news. Warm air was coming from the south and cold air from the north and was colliding right were we were heading! We were heading into what we were hearing was 30-50% chance of tornadoes right were we were going! At the very least 2" hail and 60-70 mile an hour winds.
We decided we would leave a day early on Monday and we might miss the SEVERE storm if we just stayed the one night. We actually left and had driven about 15 minutes. We were on the bridge over Lake Texoma and into Oklahoma wondering why we were going towards potential danger.
We turned around and took the 287 towards Amarillo! Amarillo barely would be missing the severe storms but was going to get the cold. We can handle the cold in our coach! We decided to pull into the Amarillo Best Wonderland RV Park for ten nights. It got up to almost 90 degrees on Monday but with high winds up to about 40 mph. Tuesday was much colder but still at about 50 degrees. By about 9:00 PM it was already freezing and we got some light snow, but because there was so little precipitation it did not stick.Most of the night it was in the low 20's out. It got down to 20 degrees at 7:00 AM wednesday morning. We stuck a cup of water outside next to our front door. Here is what we got!

We decided to go to the Jack Sisemore RV Museum. This is a free RV Museum at Jack Sisemore Traveland, and RV sales business. He also own the RV park we are in.

This is a 1936 Alma travel trailer. Pretty amazing that you could walk in these. This ones floor was squeeking!
1937 Elkart Traveler. This is the first model of RV to come out of Elkart, Indiana. Elkart is where most RV's are now made. Our Carriage was made down the road in Middlebury, Indiana.
Speaking of our Carriage, Jack must have been a Carriage dealer at one time. Check out this old Carriage sign! Royals International was Carriage's top of the line rig.

1970 Avion Camper. This is the last year Avion made campers. They are better know for large 5th wheels. RV Bill lived in an Avion 5th wheel on his lot at BIll's RV.

The two most interesting to me were these two...
1977 Confederate Bike. This came from the factory with a confederate flag on it. It was made after they first made a Liberty bike. They only produced 45 of these Sportsters. The thing that was interesting to me is because of the political incorrectness of this bike Harley Davidson does not recognise that they made this. It has been removed from their archives and is the only bike not at their museum. It is like it never happened! Harley the bad boy of bikes has chickened out! It probably was a bad decision to make this bike, but you can't rewrite history no matter how bad it is!

The second bike is a 1977 Harley Cafe bike. Really??? What were they thinking? I can't imagine anyone who wanted a Harley buying this!
