Lake Conroe and Willis, Tx

This is our campsite at the Lake Conroe Thousand Trails. There is a lot of space between sites which we really like. So many of the parks they try to squeeze as may people in such a small area.

Lake Conroe TT
We found a new family park just about 1.5 miles away from the campground with some walking trails and decided to go check it out. It is called John Burge Park.

John Burge Park
There were some walking trails and even an 18 hole Frisbee Golf course. This was the group area. A family was having a birthday party for a kid here.

We decided to check out the trails. Here is the sign for the trails.

Trail system
We took the Oak trail which is a little over 6/10 of a mile. It was a nice meandering trail.

Oak Trail
The Oak trail went around the Disc Golf Course. It is an 18 hole Frisbee course. Here is the sign for the 13th hole.

13th hole
This is the hole. You start on the cement pad and throw towards the metal basket. Most of the holes are not straight like this one and you have to curve around trees.

Course
After we left the park we decided to go into Willis and eat lunch at the 'Original Super Burger'. Super burger has been featured on both the History channel and Discovery channel so we had to try it!

Super Burger
We both had their regular burger, fries and drink. It was a GREAT burger. A young man and his girlfriend sat next to us. They were locals. She offered him $100.00 if he could eat the Bellybuster challenge! The Bellybuster is almost a 5 lb. bacon cheeseburger!

Bellybuster!
This is a huge burger! We were full eating our 1/4 pounders! but this one is so big it is just plain funny! We stayed to see if he would finish it. We were pulling for him.

Cutting the burger
He cut it into 5 pie type slices. The burger was $19.95 which really isn't bad when you consider it would feed a whole family. He and his girlfriend were very nice people. It was fun sharing this experience with them.

Now for the results......

Unfortunately he came up short. He missed it by a little more then a slice, but he ate almost 4/5th of the burger, almost 4 lbs. We were impressed. He did not get his photo in the 'Wall of Fame", nor did he get his special t-shirt, but he did get a belly ache! LOL!

Belly Buster final
That's all for today,
Love you all,
Brian and Patty
